Shisa.ai is a Tokyo-based AI company building frontier translation, speech,
and language models tuned for Japanese. We ship enterprise APIs, a consumer
chat app, and an open-weight LLM family — designed so Japanese vocabulary,
honorifics, and cultural context are first-class, rather than retrofitted
from English-centric foundation models.

- 2026-03: Shisa.AI exhibited at DIG Shibuya and Shibuya Creative Tech 2026,
  alongside other Tokyo-based startups invited by the City of Shibuya.
- 2025-12: Shisa V2.1 series released — five model sizes from a 1.2B mobile
  variant up to 70B, plus a new paid API offering on Shisa Platform.
- 2025-06: Llama 3.1 Shisa V2 405B released — a multilingual model with
  Japanese benchmark scores competitive with frontier closed models.
